1978 SEKISUI receives award for the development of the Eslon Neo Lumber FFU synthetic wood
1980 Application of the newly developed FFU synthetic wood sleepers in Field trials for two projects
  • Miometagawa bridge of the Uetsu line (JNR) in the district of Niigata
  • Kanmon Tunnel of the Sanyo line (JNR) in the region of Kyushu (JNR=Japan National Railways)
1985 Very good test results in the five-year field trials resulted in official approval of FFU rail sleepers by the JNR in the Japanese railway network.
1991 Technical Railway Institute publishes the test results of the FFU railway sleepers after 10-years utilization period. Almost no ageing appearances.
1996 Technical Railway Institute publishes the test results of the FFU railway sleepers after 15-years utilization period.
Strength values imply a minimum life of 50 years.
2004 Komat completes first project in Europe
